Government Scholarships to Study Abroad

November 17, 2015 by admin Leave a Comment

There are so many benefits to studying abroad that it’s surprising more students aren’t pursuing this opportunity. One of the main reasons why a lot of students don’t even consider the opportunity to study abroad is the cost. Studying at a foreign college or university can be incredibly expensive when you factor in airfare, room and board, and more. However, there are numerous government scholarships to study abroad that are made available by various colleges and universities as well as different government organizations around the world.

What are the benefits to studying abroad?

One of the most significant benefits to being able to study abroad is the opportunity to be immersed in a different culture. When people grow up in one particular country and have no exposure to other cultures, ways of life, or anything else, they generally develop certain preconceived notions. These prejudices can shape their life and limit their opportunities.abroad

By studying abroad, a college student can not only experience the benefits of an incredible education, but also see another part of the world, understand how people live in this part of the world view, and much more. That can provide them a powerful launching point for their entire career.

While it may seem almost impossible for some students to even think about studying abroad, relying on government scholarships for this purpose is a great way to at least offset the cost of the education. While the scholarship may not cover full tuition, supplies and books, and even room and board, it can certainly offset the cost of airfare and other expenses that the student may not have to incur if they were to attend college in their own country.

Here is a list of a number of government scholarships that help students gain the opportunity to study abroad.
